Financial Services
Investment Firm Licence
A Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) is a legal entity licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) to provide investment services. The most common reasons for establishing a CIF include operating as a portfolio manager, brokerage firm, investment advisor, or forex trader.
Once licensed, a CIF can freely offer investment services through representative and branch offices across 30 EU and EEA member states via the EU Passporting System for Investment Firms.
Alternative Investment Funds
The Cyprus Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) is an attractive fund structure that can be sold on a private placement basis or marketed to professional investors across the EU, provided it is managed under the Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) Law. An AIF established in Cyprus can leverage the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) passport for distribution within the EU. The Cypriot legal and regulatory framework for collective investment schemes is fully aligned with EU directives on asset management and investor protection.
